At Sally Holdgate Architecture, we are dedicated to creating architecture that does more than solve a brief, it takes the weight off your shoulders and hands back a place that genuinely works, on time and within budget.

Founded by Sally Holdgate in 2020, the practice draws on over two decades of Sally's experience across New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom, including roles as Principal Architect, Design Manager, Lead Architect, and business owner. She's renovated her own home and more recently, designed and consented a new build on land she and her husband own, giving her a client's-eye view few architects have. Her work spans everything from residential alterations & new builds to large-scale commercial and education developments, shaped by design that's considered highly collaborative and built to last. Few architects at boutique scale can genuinely claim this breadth of experience, and it means whatever the size or complexity of your project, Sally has almost certainly delivered something like it before.

Sally is backed by a trusted circle of designers, draughtspeople and consultants, brought together in whatever combination each project needs. It's a big part of why projects here stay on track.

We believe architecture should never leave a client guessing. Listening closely, staying honest about budget and timeline from day one and understanding each site properly, that's how we create spaces that feel authentic and genuinely theirs.

We recommend engaging the right professionals early, for example real estate agents, mortgage brokers, land surveyors to map the road ahead before ground is broken. In today's shifting building environment, that groundwork often makes all the difference.
